About

Employable

Creating opportunities.
Changing expectations.

We believe that people with learning disabilities and autistic people who want to work can work – with the right support.

Right now, only a 4.8% of working age people with learning disabilities known to social care and 30% of working age autistic people are in employment as opposed 82% of the non- disabled people. This is a 50-77% gap.

We’re working to change that by helping employers create inclusive workplaces and supporting individuals into meaningful jobs.

Our approach

We follow a simple, proven approach:
  • Place
Matching a candidate to an appropriate job as quickly as possible
  • Train
Support for the person to integrate and master the skills of the job
  • Maintain
Ongoing training, job support, mentoring or monitoring – whatever is required

What makes us different

  • We work with both candidates and employers
  • We focus on real jobs, not just training
  • We make inclusive employment hassle free for employers
  • We provide expert long-term, personalised support for candidates and employers
  • We can provide supported employment hubs within existing businesses

Our Leadership Team

EmployAble is part of the Maurice Hatter Foundation and is led by an executive team that combines extensive professional expertise, lived experience, and a deep commitment to inclusion.

Together, they bring a shared passion for transforming society’s perception of neurodiversity and expanding opportunities for autistic people and those with learning disabilities.

The team is united by a belief in the potential of every individual. EmployAble focuses on strengths, talents, and aspirations, supporting people to secure meaningful paid employment that reflects their abilities and interests. Through inclusion in the workplace, autistic people and people with learning disabilities gain purpose, build confidence, and are recognised as valued and equal members of society.

Under the executive team’s guidance, EmployAble continues to challenge barriers, champion inclusive employment, and demonstrate the significant contribution that neurodivergent people can make to workplaces and communities.
